Life at Awaken Youth Pty Ltd has been hectic over the past few months. More successful workshops have been conducted in schools around the state and the feedback, I’m thrilled to say, has been overwhelmingly positive. I’ve put hundreds of hours into preparing my application together to BOSTES in the hope that my courses will gain endorsement as accredited courses from December. Stay tuned to hear the outcome on this down the track.
I’ve also been busy working for Lifeline. I’m really enjoying being back on the phones and relishing the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the callers who ring in their moment of crisis, whatever that may be for them.
Awakening Sebastian has also been keeping me busy as more and more people are reading the novel. I’m really excited about my upcoming author talk and book signing next week at Narellan Library. Details can be found here:
Please come along if you’re free. This event is connected to mental health month and I’ll be discussing my writing journey as well as the importance of wellbeing and youth mental health, with a particular focus on suicide prevention. I was lucky enough to be featured in the Macarthur Advertiser this week and the article can be found here if you’d like to read it:
I’m busily planning for 2016 and taking school bookings for Suicide Prevention Workshops and author talks. It looks like it’s going to be another big year for Awaken Youth Pty Ltd. I couldn’t be happier!
Thanks all, Donna 🙂
